"Foundation"

Shoot Location: Philadelphia, PA

In 2002, my grandmother wrote a poem centered around love, hope, and encouragement. Years later, in 2019, I created Welcome Home inspired by the message behind those words.

For this release, I decided to return to Philadelphia for the shoot. It felt right to begin here-the same place where I originally found the poem that inspired the foundation of Welcome Home.

Growing up, my mother, brother, and I would travel to Philly during the holidays to visit my grandmothers. I remember how excited I would get to see my Nana and my Grandmother. Those trips became some of the memories that I still carry with me today.

So being back in Philadelphia, in the same environment where my family spent so much time together, brought a strong sense of nostalgia. I wanted to capture that environment freshly for Welcome Home- not just as a backdrop for the release, but as a part of the story itself.

I went back to the old house, spent time in the places that held memories from childhood and captured my grandmother on camera. Being able to bring her into this part of the journey meant a lot to me.

When I finished the shoot, I realized that what brought me the most joy wasn't simply capturing the clothes. It was being back in a place that reminded me where a lot of this began- family, memories, love, and the words my grandmother left behind.

Welcome Home is more than a clothing brand to me. It's a continuation of something that started long before the brand existed.
